The 2012-13 English Premier League kicks off this Saturday with 7 matches on the cards. Liverpool will begin their reign under new boss Brendan Rodgers with an away trip to the Hawthorns to face West Brom which is being managed by the Anfield club’s former assistant coach Steve Clarke. This will the first competitive Premier league game for either of the coaches for their new clubs.

New Liverpool boys Joe Allen and Fabio Borini are both expected to make their debut for the club in the match.

Queens Park Rangers who escaped relegation on the last day of premier league action last season in spite of losing to Manchester City will welcome Swansea City at Loftus Road while Norwich will travel to Craven Cottage to tackle Clint Dempsey-less Fulham. The American international is not expected to feature in the match as he continues to push for an exit to Liverpool.

Other matches will see promoted sides West Ham and Reading host Aston Villa at Upton Park and Stoke at the Madejski stadium respectively.

The late kick-off on Saturday will be last season’s fourth against fifth as Andre Villas Boas’ Tottenham travel to Newcastle.

Defending champions Manchester City will start their title defence against promoted side Southampton on Sunday, the same day Wigan plays Chelsea at the JJB Stadium.

Manchester United will have to wait till Monday to test their forward line that now includes Robin Van Persie when they travel to Liverpool to face Everton at Goodison Park.
