JMJ and Vapour Academy players after their 0-0 draw

JMJ Academy and Vapour grabbed the two remaining Nairobi Provincial finals slots after finishing first and second respectively in the last leg of the COPA Coca-Cola Nairobi West branch matches.

JMJ destroyed Young Talents 3-0 in their first assignment, Daniel Gitau and Stephen Owino netting after Kim Kimathi had put them ahead, and a 0-0 draw against hosts Vapour ensured they took the top spot.

Young Talents bounced back with a 5-0 humbling of More Fire in a dead rubber match as the two teams had already been eliminated alongside French School and Terokayo. Beijing Girls kept their 100% win record with a 1-0 dismal of Uweza, Selvin Kasowa scoring the solitary goal via a second half penalty. Uweza, however, will join Beijing in the provincial finals after Amazing Grace, who needed victory against Girls Soccer, could only manage a barren draw.

Meanwhile in North Rift branch, Kunji Santos beat Kapsowar Young Stars 2-0 to finish top of the standings and qualify for the provincial finals. They will be joined by Rangers FC who grabbed the runners-up slot in spite of suffering a 6-3 humiliation at the hands of Kapsabet Youth. The North Rift branch teams will be pooled with South Rift’s Ujuzi Young Stars and Bolosiche for the provincial finals.

Kapsowar Girls and Kuinet seized the ladies’ North Rift slots after both finished on 7 points but Kaspowar had a superior goal difference. The duo set a date with Nyasita Girls and Chebo from South Rift.

North Coast teams who advanced to provincial finals are Malindi United Academy and Kilifi United for boys and Muungano Girls and Malindi Action Ladies for girls.
