Barcelona fans finally got a glimpse of their new man, Luis Suarez, in action after the Uruguayan made his debut for the Catalan club in the Joan Gamper Trophy match on Monday.
Camp Nou was the stage where the former Liverpool forward played his first game in Barca colours after his initial ban from featuring in any form of football after his biting incident at the World Cup was lifted.
The 27-year-old replaced Rafinha in the 75th minute in the match against Mexican club, Leon. His debut came 31 days after his £75 million move from Liverpool.
Suarez entered the action with Luis Enrique’s men holding a comfortable 4-0 lead over La Fiera, Lionel Messi, Neymar (twice) and youngster Munir El Haddadi having found the back of the net.
Although he did not sparkle or cap his maiden appearance with a goal, Suarez was involved as the Baugrana scored two more goals from El Haddadi and Sandro Ramirez as the game ended 6-0 in favor of the Spanish outfit.
Barca fans were denied a chance to watch Suarez link up with Messi as his fellow South American had been withdrawn.
It won’t be until October 25th when the fiery Uruguayan will make his first competitive debut and it doesn’t get any better than in a Classico match as Barca will play Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabue on the day Suarez's four month ban ends.
Only then will Barca fans and indeed the football universe get to see what the attacking trio of Suarez, Messi and Neymar are made of.
And That's thesteifmastertake!!
